Mt 13:54-58

Jesus returns home and teaches in the synagogue. He is among family and friends. One would think that those who know him, or at least know about him, would accept him unconditionally. Initially, they are astonished but their “we knew him when” conversation takes them to doubt and disbelief. Because of this Jesus acknowledges that there is nothing he can do for them.

We pray for all who evangelize and catechize in your holy name. Give them the courage to persevere and the wisdom to know when to move on.
