Mt 12:14-21

The Pharisee’s plotting against Jesus is ramping up. He continues his mission despite the risk. Matthew cites a passage from Isaiah that states Jesus is the one chosen by God, no matter who rejects him. He is God’s servant who brings justice and hope to all the people in stark contrast to the way of the world.

The world’s justice brings a sense of hopelessness and despair. Never have we needed you more, Lord God.
